About Your Inn Keeper, Mary Maassen:
It absolutely was love at first sight when Mary Maassen
about one day in May of 2003 to show the Femme Osage
Haus Bed & Breakfast to her sister-in-law.
The drive along Highway "F" and Old Femme
Osage Creek Road was a glorious and peaceful escape
from the grind of work and daily routines. The drive
was all the more beautiful as the Femme Osage Valley
was alive with springtime greenery, new life, nature
and peacefulness.
You can imagine what the original German seller saw
when he first arrived in the beautiful valley almost
200 years ago. Some things haven't changed in the
terrain and the beautiful Femme Osage Creek.
Looking more like a town you only see on vacation
or read about in those travel magazines, Mary quickly
called her six daughters and told them she was thinking
of moving to the country on four acres of rolling
hills and running a Bed & Breakfast!
After the shock and surprise, her daughters were
100% behind their Mom, and told her to go for it!
The rest is history now as the city girl goes country
leaving the condo life behind for a quieter lifestyle
and the fun of meeting new, interesting and fun people
as her house guests.
